Every week, just initially of the weekend, we meet up with the WoW Insider employees and ask them, "What are you taking part in this week?" -- otherwise often called: WRUP. Join us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the feedback to let us know what you're taking part in, too!

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It is the '90s! Everybody's going to conventions nowadays!

Certain, it's in Southern California, and for lots of you, that's a long way from residence. But man, this is the '90s. They've planes now. And a few of those planes even have air phones. You can hook up your 14.4k modem to one of those and hook up with your favorite Warcraft 2 BBS, perhaps play a bit Legend of the Red Dragon from 20,000 feet. Why not? It is the '90s!

What's that? You say it's not the '90s -- it's 2011? Properly, in fact it's! I know precisely what today is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and yr on it. Everyone's obtained one -- everyone, that's, who's living within the '90s.

BlizzCon, the most popular occasion of the '90s, is arising in a mere two weeks. Server stat So at present, along with the same old question of "What are you taking part in?" (Super Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our top-notch writers (lots of whom have Tripod pages) reply a bonus question: "What terrific recommendation do you may have for the go-go BlizzCon attending of us of the '90s?"

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend will probably be spent finishing my entry for the global Writing Contest -- in other words, writing like a madwoman.

As for BlizzCon -- make sure that you will have loads of water alongside, the convention corridor is bigger than it looks! Show up for panels early, test the events schedule and determine what you want to hit prematurely. Also -- comfy footwear. Severely, you will be on your toes just about all day lengthy. Comfy sneakers are the most effective!

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I'll be going to a different marriage ceremony this weekend however will otherwise be on the PTR getting notes for an upcoming Shifting on tanking and healing the three new 5-mans.

As for BlizzCon, I've yet to go, but if I had to guess from previous experiences with educational conferences and the like, have only one bit of advice: Do not put on heels.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) (gplus.to/alexziebart) Been taking part in some Lifeless Island and hopefully will get a hefty amount of co-op time in with a buddy of mine. Good coop video games are far more uncommon than they ought to be.

For BlizzCon, take extra shirts than you suppose you will want. When you get tremendous-sweaty, stop into your hotel room and change shirts. It's higher than being smelly and uncomfortable all day.

Chase Hasbrouck First WRUP /yay. Continuing my feral soloing in undertaking in WoW (when Kuwaiti latency permits), else enjoying SpaceChem on Steam. All of the enjoyable of programming with out the code!

BlizzCon: never been, however experience has taught me at all times to observe the 3 W's when touring: water, weight, and walking (comfortably).

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I will be doing a bit of little bit of PTR spelunking, attempting out the new dungeons and paladin adjustments, but mostly I will be scratching a couple of more tallies into my wall with a plastic spoon, counting the times until Skyrim releases.

As for BlizzCon, this will be my first! As such, I will be sticking to my guildmates like black leather seats on a sizzling summer day. Server stat

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Since my mage and warrior are on hold until the 4.Three goes dwell, I could see if I can solo me some extra tier 5 for my warlock. I'm also taking part in some Aquaria and Bastion (again) on Steam, so I might do some more with those games.

My advice? Hygiene. Particularly, double-, triple-, and quadruple-verify your travel bag. If you happen to miss one thing like a toothbrush or a shaving package, chances are high you will must pay an arm and a leg to replace it.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Not taking part in anything this weekend, but I will be watching plenty of StarCraft 2 and League of Legends at IPL3.

Advice for BlizzCon? Hmm ... Ready in the badge choose-up line is not needed if you do not have to be the primary one into opening ceremonies. Just choose up your badge whereas everyone seems to be in line for the ceremonies and you'll be in and out in 5 minutes.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I am nonetheless on my honeymoon in NYC, but once i get again I am going to probably start AC: Brotherhood, since my AC2 disc is scratched and I do not think I can end.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I've been in Philly for a stable a part of the week, and I'll be staying in Philly all through the weekend hanging with my pal Chester. All kinds of enjoyable can be had. Like as we speak, I ate Dutch food. We are a terribly boring folks, we Dutch.

My BlizzCon recommendation: If you wish to grasp out with Fox, I counsel you get your request in ahead of time, because there are lots of you, very few nights in lovely Southern California, and just one Fox. Further, I counsel anybody who will not be from an area with Jack in the Box eating places to go eat at a Jack within the Field restaurant. Oh my god.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) Extra LoL, I have a new champion to study! Additionally more alt leveling in WoW and actually wanting forward to another select my journey day Sunday; I am going to in all probability start earlier (3 p.m.) this week and go until 5. I'll also be livestreaming the adventure, so be certain to look at Twitter for the link and time!

Greatest BlizzCon blunder: not sporting snug and supportive sneakers. Seriously, you stand and stroll a lot that you are a fool if you do not. Additionally, the amount of ache your toes will be in will likely be stunning. Additionally, drink / deliver numerous water and attempt to eat exterior of the convention heart. Heaps of fine native locations to nom issues at which might be a fast walk from the convention center.

Josh Myers (@Elamqt) I am liking my army of premade and major-transferred shaman on the PTR. I even have a lone mage premade who was arrange with spec/glyphs/keybinds/and so on. and then promptly forgotten.

I have no BlizzCon recommendation, although I warning all Wow Insider meetup attendees to avoid eye contact with Fox. That's just widespread sense, although.

(Glorious point. That is how I select my prey. -- Fox)

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Hoping for some high quality time with my DS, but I am undecided, as I will be working at my job, doing artwork, and it is Thanksgiving up right here in Canada-land, so there's that. I'll be heading out of town Sunday night to see my family.

BlizzCon advice? Take the health-examine:

Carry numerous water with you.

Put on comfy sneakers (with insoles if crucial). Remember to stretch your decrease back every hour or so!

Carry some protein-wealthy snacks with you -- pure meals bars, dry-roasted nuts (like almonds and cashews). Con meals is overpriced and filled with crap, and this can keep you fuller longer. /well being nerd

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I'm a damaged report. League of Legends and WoW.

Ideas for BlizzCon: deliver a bottle of water if you'll be able to, take issues sluggish, wear comfy footwear, and buy Mat McCurley drinks on the WoW Insider Reader Meetup.

Matt Low (@matticus) In a change of tempo, playing on my Nintendo DS. Replaying some Remaining Fantasy VI! My faaaaaavourite Final Fantasy collection -- ever!

Matt Rossi (@matthewrossi) (gplus.to/MatthewWRossi) My hand is absolutely screwed up now, so unhealthy I don't think I can play much of anything. (I'm typing this one-finger, hunt-and-peck type).

As for BlizzCon, I've never been.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Some Sword of the Stars with some buddies, for (probable) last recreation earlier than the sequel comes out. We'll ship the previous girl off in model. I'll also be getting some severe Minecraft time in since my guild's server was down final week. Must make up for misplaced time!

This can only be my second BlizzCon, but the largest thing I picked up final 12 months is to be really early to anything you want to go to -- panels or whatever. Aside from badge pickup on Thursday evening. It is open for hours and badges aren't limited in the identical method seats or area is. No want to show up early for that line; go later that night time and coast right via to pickup.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I will be capturing weddings by means of most of the wedding, which is without delay thrilling and terrifying. I am not the pro of the staff, so I except to spend plenty of time going "Hurrr ..." The weekend is the proper time to kick again, loosen up and enjoy some recreation time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get sufficient raiding? Rolling a brand new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? No matter your favourite method to play World of Warcraft, let us know within the feedback what you're playing this weekend!
